Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) tests have begun for students in grades 3 to 8 and grade 11. Please encourage your student to apply their best effort.
These assessments give students an opportunity to demonstrate their learning around the Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts and Math.
This year, California is also piloting a California Science Assessment, which will not report any results. The results will be used to calculate individual school and district academic indicators for elementary and middle schools and grade 11 results will be part of our College and Career indicator. See your school’s website for testing schedules.
