About Transportation

Message from Transportation Director Glenn Perry

State budget cuts have created a huge burden to school districts throughout the state. Unfortunately, the Oceanside Unified School District has not been able to avoid these budget woes. In an effort to balance the district budget, the Board of Education voted to end transportation to all general education students. Middle and High School students who reside on Camp Pendleton will still be able to receive transportation on a fee basis. Additionally, due to the renovation of Santa Margarita Elementary School, and the one-year relocation of that school off base, all students who attend Santa Margarita Elementary School will be eligible for free transportation during the re-construction process.

Special Education transportation will continue at no charge for those students who qualify . Our dedicated staff of transportation professionals, including drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, instructors and administrative support personnel will continue to keep the Oceanside Unified School Districtr Transportation Department as one of the safest public school transportation departments in the state.

It is the mission of the transportation department to safely deliver all students each day, no matter their destination.  In order to continually make our service better, please feel free to contact us with any comments, concerns or suggestions.  OUSD Transportation can be reached at 760-966-4445 or by clicking on the e-mail link below.  On behalf of the entire transportation department, I would like to say what a pleasure it is to serve the students of Oceanside.

Sincerely,

Glenn Perry

Director of Transportation
